Rep Power: 13 ![]() | Ok, I brought the car to Mits with a lot of big problems last Thursday. Oil Leaks: -My front main seal is PISSING oil out. When i got there, I parked the car (left it running) and 30 seconds later, there was a HUUUUUGE puddle of oil under the car..rediculous. It's getting worse too the more the car runs. -My oil pan drain plug is stripped/leaking also (another slow leak). -My camshaft seal is leaking too (bad pcv valve, but im sure it messed u p the seal, too) Starter/Ignition?: My ignition is messed up somehow. For the past month or something, I've been hotwiring my car (THANKS EVAN ! ! ) It's terribly embarrasing and time consuming. Not to mention, I have to carry around a bent up coat hanger everywhere (and a spare/backup in the glove box)Results as-of Today (Tuesday, the 27th) I called the dude @ City Mits (name's Mike) @ lunch, he said it was "The worst car oil leak he's ever seen!" He said he's fixed the starter/ignition problem (wiring problems) He told me where my main oil leaks are, as well as my oil pressure sending unit. (Short side-story about oil pressure sender) The day before i brought it up to Mits, I drove my car to lunch and on the way back, I look over and see the oil light on. It gives me more of a "WTF" than a "OH SHIT!". I just over-filled the car by half a quart, so i KNOW its not low on oil pressure (as well as fresh main bearings). At the red turned green, and as soon as i started rolling, the oil light started having a seizure. I looked @ my gauge, and it was PEGGGGED THE FUCK OUT! I didnt know the gauge would go that hight. I looked @ it and laughed, and then it dropped to like -300 psi.Oil light stayed solid @ above 3000 rpm, and after a few minutes, it just had a full-on stroke. It flashed like 300 times/second and then it just stayed solid. I drove it to work, and it had oil. Again, WTF. Leads me to believe it went bad or has unplugged itself. *After I changed the bearings, my oil pressure gauge WORKED. And i mean, i had oil pressure out the booty. I loved life, and life loved me....until later that night, my gauge died. I thought I lost all oil pressure....THAT gave me a "OH SHIT!"* /Side story. Anyway, dude said parts + labor came out for $519 + Tax. I came in there expecting to pay like $700-1000 bucks. Dodge a bullet right there.... So as a lot of you are familiar with my quest for a feasable transmission solution, I found a Jap transmission (AWD 5 speed for a TT) for $1000. No $2100+ rebuild or reman. The only thing I need to do is remove/replace my transmission. /Lazy mode. Transmission after my BOV and CFDS. From www.engineland.com (In canada) "hi, we do have the tranny for 3000gt-tt awd. the price is $1000 USD + shipping" I'm so fucking stoked right now....Ill have a 2nd gear, and a car that does not use more oil than gas (I still have horrible gas mileage: open Evap can) That is all. |

Rep Power: 32 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So he fixed the leaks and ignition? So all thats left is to fix the trans? You should still be able to find a trans cheaper than that, I bought mine off of ebay awhile ago for $500, and then I haggled the guy to give me back $100 of it because the output shaft was stripped. But if you dont feel like waiting/searching, $1000 isnt too bad. __________________ ![]() |
