I was sick of drilling out spot welds after I drilled out those two mounts for the rear seatbelts, lol:  I couldnt imagine having to drill ALL of those out  Are you using a regular mig welder to weld in everything. or are you using a spot welder? With that many welds, I wouldnt be suprised if you had the best tool for the job. I'm going the cheap route and using my good ol' lincoln mig welder for my stuff - I'll have to do a lot of clean up grinding, especially since I'm not the best welder out there, but it will do. Do you have some idea of when you will finish this project? I'm trying to get my car done before fall semester starts, its a LOT of work to do in that time but I might be able to pull it off. Keep up with the good work (and all the cool pics!) __________________  |

Rep Power: 71 | Re: My AWD Conversion UPDATE: heres the last part i needed to remove from my car to complete my conversion, as i mentioned in the first post, the Z11A FWD cars have two of the four studs needed to secure the drive-shaft in place. you can see what i mean in thie pics. |

Rep Power: 71 | Re: My AWD Conversion but i would still have to remove it to drop them down in though. i had the brace out in about 10 mins anyway. the only way i could see doing it with out removing it, would be how bob the great handled it http://www.bobthegreat.com/pages/myc...riveshaft.html and as we all know, i'm going the 100% non fabrication method. if i was in a pinch, and didn't have the AWD brace, i would have removed it and installed studs in it. |
