Default SOHC tuning

ok, if you dont know by now i rock a SOHC. and i had some fitment questions

Engine:

aftermarket N/A downpipes for DOHC fit SOHC applications?
Crank Pulley N/A DOHC work for SOHC?
timing gear?
DOHC intake manifold?
throttle bodies interchangeable?
plug wires?

Suspension:

intrax springs?(i heard the H&R are DOHC FWD only for the rear)
DOHC coilovers?
OEM vr-4 BBK?
DOHC brake calipers and pads?

Transmission:

clutches, are the DOHC specific?

just a few things i want to get cleared up, if the Intrax will not fit I'm going with Sprint springs for now.

I don't think that the crank pulley will work.

Clutch ,crank pulley, timing gear, wires, and flywheel are all SOHC specific. Throttle body for DOHC fits DOHC manifold and SOHC fits SOHC, since DOHC has a wider diameter. You'd have to see into having the manifold opening made wider to fit a DOHC throttlebody. Now as for both DOHC manifold and throttlebody transfered to SOHC block, I think the gains would be minimal.

Not sure, but I think SOHC and DOHC exhaust stuff is all the same. Even so I'd go for some SOHC headers anyway.

Suspension I don't know that much about. But really, everyone will just tell you, like I will, to just maintain your SOHC and save for a RT/TT or VR4.

Default Re: SOHC tuning

I have completed the following mods on my 98 3000GT - SOHC, which should clarify what can be done.

cylinder heads – extrude-honed, ported and flowed
camshaft bearing caps precision line-bored
valve seats multi-angle grind
phosphor bronze valve guides
lightweight, low profile, competition valves (“Super Alloy”)
plenum and lower intake - extrude-honed, ported and flowed
billet sprint (270º ) camshafts
forged domed pistons with milled skirts (11.0:1)
plasma moly racing piston rings
chrome moly forged connecting rods
main and rod competition bearings
block tanked, decked and honed (91.5 mm.)
crankshaft knife-edged, polished and balanced with entire rotating assembly
competition double valve springs
adjustable, lightweight vernier cam gears
phenolic heat shunt
programable engine management system
six individual coilpacks
custom oversized throttle body with low profile throttle plate
braided steel fuel hoses with bronze connectors
custom fabricated fuel rail loops
stepper motor adapter
dry-cell battery
modular injector harnesses
custom ground wire installation
8.5mm. competition ignition cables and connectors
port-matched, mandrel-bent headers in stainless steel
complete exhaust system in stainless steel
thermal barrier treatment - valve covers (also teflon-lined)
stainless steel high-flow race air filter
custom intake pipe, thermal coated inside and out
heat-protected and rewired engine and ecu/injector harnesses
lightened and balanced flywheel
dual friction competition clutch
oversized aluminum radiator
remote oil filter system
oil cooler
egr block-off plates
engine machining and build by Rogers Engines and Machine
engine balanced and lightened by Bouchers Automotive Machine
engine management system built and tuned by Imagine Injection

Apart from the throttle body, there is not much that will migrate from the DOHC to the SOHC.
Good luck
